Chapter 1.16: Toddlers, Teens, and Elders

Hey guys! I'm happy that I was able to get this update out so quickly, hopefully I'll be able to keep being prompt. It's a bit in advance, but I'm far too excited for the upcoming heir/heiress vote, and I'd love to get there sometime soon!

Last time, we had quite a few birthdays, a lot of Barbara hate, and an unlikely friendship between her and Grimmy (I suppose if no one else likes you, at least Death can). Also, Sauda at last retired her ugly and revealing pink and black leather dominatrix-esque formal outfit, causing much happiness for all readers of this wishacy, no doubt.

Now, we return to the sight of Sauda actually being a mother and teaching her youngest daughter how to talk.

Sauda: Senga, say par-tee. Par-tee. Those are the things that we have to be careful not to have too many of, because it means somebody will die.

True advice right there.

Sauda: Because then we have ghosts all over and they take our beds and do our chores and it's not fun. We already have two ghosts and I don't like that first one, Sammi. I think she's in league with the fairies.

Senga: Boring, Mama!

Well, at least someone isn't afraid to tell Sauda what she thinks about her.

 photo Screenshot-67-13.jpg

Senga likes her little Imaginary Friend doll better. Probably because unlike Sauda, it's not insane, and can't talk.

 photo Screenshot-68-13.jpg

Sorry Vlad, buddy. Haven't got that EP. Looks like you'll have to play pretend about the aliens for quite a bit longer. On the bright side, Vlad, you're not in danger of getting probed or experiencing male-pregnancy. As fun as that would be for me to see, you probably wouldn't like it very much.

 photo Screenshot-80-11.jpg

But the days of childhood pretending are coming to an end. It's time for Vlad to become a teen. Who's excited for teen hormones and moodiness to enter the Random house? ME! I mean, I can deal with crazy sims, I've put up with Sauda, how hard can teens be? How could they be any worse?

(I probably shouldn't ask these questions. My game has a way of answering them in ways I don't like.)

 photo Screenshot-82-11.jpg

Vlad: Ta da!

Hello, teen-Vlad!

 photo Screenshot-83-11.jpg

There we go, now you look like a cool sim. I bet all the girls at school will be dying to meet you ;)

 photo Screenshot-84-11.jpg

Vlad: I hate everyone and everything.

Well, you won't be attracting many girls if you walk around with that grumpy face on. I also don't know what he has to be grumpy about, as he gained the genius trait this time around. Mama wanted him to become a genius, and I'm literally not allowed to deny her any of her wishes, so there you go.

 photo Screenshot-85-11.jpg

Well, if he's not going to enjoy being around people he can at least take advantage of the new genius trait.

 photo Screenshot-72-12.jpg

 photo Screenshot-75-11.jpg

Meanwhile, Donny isn't letting his elder self get out of shape.

 photo Screenshot-73-12.jpg

Look at that fierce face!

 photo Screenshot-74-12.jpg

But Sauda interrupts him to complain about Barbara. Who evens knows what about, Barbara is pretty unassuming yet everyone inexplicably hates her. I would blame the unlucky trait but it even happened when she was a baby.

 photo Screenshot-76-11.jpg

Donny: Hey, don't insult our daughter!

At least someone in this family likes Barbara.

 photo Screenshot-77-11.jpg

The new member of the household is taking advantage of one of the few perks of living in the Random home: the hot tub. Not sure she'd be so eager if she knew what Donny and Sauda got up to in there though...

 photo Screenshot-78-11.jpg

Vlad shows that he doesn't hate everyone, and is a good big brother to little Osamu.

 photo Screenshot-86-11.jpg

Sauda, on the other hand, has no sense of boundaries, and will probably scar Osamu for life.

 photo Screenshot-87-11.jpg

Barbara has decided on a lifetime wish: Master of the Arts. Makes sense. I shudder to think of how a wish relating to befriending other sims would go.

 photo Screenshot-89-11.jpg

I guess Sauda is learning martial arts. Seems like a dangerous pastime for her. She shouldn't have the ability to attack random people. With the amount of times she suspects someone of being a fairy, no one in town will be safe.

Then again, she's also a police officer and hasn't abused her powers too heinously yet. As far as I know. Who knows what goes on in that rabbithole...

 photo Screenshot-90-11.jpg

But she won't get too good at SimFu if she keeps stopping to choke herself.

 photo Screenshot-91-11.jpg

Oh no, Sauda, don't get all attracted to Omri's simself!

I once again curse the new attraction system. It's the cause of sim relationship drama all over the place!

 photo Screenshot-92-11.jpg

See, for further proof of why Sauda shouldn't get involved, here is Omri and Princess's son, Robin.

 photo Screenshot-93-11.jpg

Well, I guess that last work out was just too much stress. Donny has officially retired from the police force. All the more time to get to know his family at home and work on his probably impossible skill-related LTW, I say! :)

 photo Screenshot-95-10.jpg

Good job, Barbara. That's actually pretty impressive for a kid!

 photo Screenshot-96-10.jpg

Donny engages in stereotypical retired elder male activities. Though usually golfing doesn't happen in the middle of the night. But hey, I guess he just couldn't wait to start his life after retirement.

 photo Screenshot-97-10.jpg

Oh, look who's celebrating her birthday all alone. She seems okay with that though. I suppose it's better than having everyone laugh at her.

 photo Screenshot-98-10.jpg

And look, Donny has come to support his daughter in her transition into being a teen.

 photo Screenshot-99-10.jpg

Barbara has a strong face, but I think it suits her! :)

 photo Screenshot-100-10.jpg

Barbara gains the loner trait, which is actually pretty fitting, as whenever she's around others they have this habit of laughing at her.

 photo Screenshot-101-10.jpg

I thought maybe that little fight about Barbara would get them to stop being all lovey-dovey, but apparently not...

 photo Screenshot-104-9.jpg

Vlad: My parents... yuck!

Such a typical teenager face right there.

 photo Screenshot-105-8.jpg

All I can say is, eww! Thank you for cleaning up, Vlad. You're free to be as moody as you want if you just clean up around the place.

 photo Screenshot-106-8.jpg

Barbara: So, now that I'm a teen you'll stop treating me so bad, right?

Sauda: Wait, who are you...? Oh, Barbara, you had a birthday? Haha, your hair looks funny!

Barbara: Well, that answers my question...

 photo Screenshot-107-8.jpg

Sauda is back to work, this time apparently dressed up as a conductor. I kind of wish I could see her job-related adventures.

 photo Screenshot-108-8.jpg

While the newly free Donny teaches his son about clowns. Gotta do something now that he's home all day.

Sauda is now the family breadwinner. That's a scary thought... she doesn't seem nearly stable enough to be the main money-maker in the family. But she's pretty high up there in the law enforcement career.

 photo Screenshot-109-8.jpg

And Senga is neglected. Or at least feels neglected. I'm starting to wonder if she may develop the dramatic trait when she's a bit older, she does seem to want a lot of attention.

 photo Screenshot-110-8.jpg

After school, the older set of twins does their homework. Though how they concentrate in that lovely, smelly environment, I couldn't tell you.

 photo Screenshot-111-8.jpg

I'll leave you with this picture of Delilah walking with her younger brother, Dirk. Okay, So his original name wasn't Dirk... but how could I not change it?? Dirk Dreamer just needs to exist in this game :)

 photo Screenshot-112-8.jpg

Well, nothing too insane happened this chapter, but there's always room for future insanity... with two teens in this house, anything could happen! Will elder Sauda and Donny continue to scar their children? Will Barbara have more social success in spite of her new loner trait? How will Osamu and Senga do?

Hope you enjoyed this update! See you next time!

  1. I like the original haircut Barbara grew up in. I feel like it suited her face and personality really well.
